Gavin Geist
Gavin feels an innate compulsion to create. Art has defined his earliest and most poignant memories.
Gavin has over 25-years in the corporate and construction worlds in high level management, sales, marketing, estimating, technical representation, and process development for companies such as Lafarge Canada, Langley Concrete Group and Surespan Structures.
The majority of Gavin’s work is executed in a concrete-based medium of his own creation. Materials such as recycled glass, sand, and iron are embedded to create unique and organic images – tactile and textural, his art is intended to be touched. Integrating strength and artistry, the concrete material is cast less than ¼” thick and carries an implicit sense of object-permanence.
